2000-2013 Harley-Davidson Touring Fox Complete Front and Rear Suspension Kit (GRIP 41mm Cartridges + IFP/QSR Rear Shocks)
Fox built its V-Twin reputation on the 2014+ bikes, but the same engineering exists for the 41mm-fork touring generation, and this kit puts it together: Fox GRIP Street Performance 41mm fork cartridges up front and a matched pair of Fox rear shocks, with spring rates selected together for your actual load. One part number, both ends, no mismatched lengths or rates.
What is in the kit
- Fox GRIP Street Performance 41mm fork cartridge kit (pair). Sealed opposed-piston cartridge design keeps air out of the oil for consistent damping, with linear rate springs that hold the front up under braking instead of diving. A bolt-in solution for your original fork legs.
- Fox rear shocks (pair) in your choice of series, spring rate, and length.
Pick your package
IFP (GRIP Front): Fox's internal floating piston monotube rear. Nitrogen charge stays separated from the shock oil so damping stays consistent on long days. Set the preload once and ride. The right choice if you want the stock bike fixed, not a project.
IFP-QSR (GRIP Front): The same IFP damper with Fox's tool-free QSR preload adjuster. Switch between solo and two-up settings in seconds without pulling the bags. The right choice if your passenger situation changes week to week.
Fox's QS3-QSR remote reservoir shocks are not offered in this kit: their reservoir mounting bracket fits 2014 and newer models only, and 2013-and-earlier bikes need a custom mounting solution. If you want the remote reservoir rear on an older bike, see our standalone Fox QS3-QSR listings and plan the mounting.
Pick your spring rate
Spring rates are matched front and rear. Standard covers up to about 240 lb of total ride load (rider plus gear plus what you normally carry). Heavy Duty covers over 240 lb of total load or riders who regularly carry a passenger. If you two-up loaded most of the time, take the Heavy Duty. Riding at the extreme end, up to around 370 lb of total load? Fox makes a Super Heavy Duty spring in the 13 in IFP-QSR shock; find it in our Fox rear shock listings and pair it with the Heavy Duty cartridge kit.
Pick your rear shock length
13 in is the comfort pick and the one most riders choose: more usable rear wheel travel, and models that came with 13 in shocks from the factory gain the damping upgrade at the same height. 12 in keeps a lower-stanced bike at its factory shock length, the pick if you are inseam limited or committed to the lower look and willing to give up that extra travel.
Why front and rear together
Ask any touring owner who upgraded one end first: the moment the rear works properly, the stock front feels worse, and vice versa. Worse, mixing mismatched lengths and rates changes rake and trail and can make a good bike handle badly. Every combination in this kit pairs standard length 41mm cartridges with a shock length that keeps steering geometry where Harley intended it.
Fitment
Fits 2000-2013 Harley-Davidson Touring models with 41mm forks, including Road King (FLHR, FLHRC, FLHRS), Street Glide (FLHX, 2006-2013), Electra Glide (FLHT, FLHTC, FLHTCU), Road Glide (FLTR, FLTRX, FLTRU), and most Screamin' Eagle and CVO variants in the range. 2002-2005 models additionally require the Fox 803-01-400 component fitment cartridge and extra disassembly steps during install; add it to your order if your bike is in those years. Not compatible with 2014 and newer Touring models with 49mm forks; we carry a separate Fox kit for those. Check the full fitment list on this page or use our suspension finder to confirm your exact model and year.
Install and setup notes
The rear shocks are a bolt-on job with basic hand tools. The fork cartridge install requires removing and disassembling the fork legs, so plan on shop time if you have not been inside a set of forks before; 2002-2005 models need the 803-01-400 fitment cartridge noted above. Set rear sag and fork preload for your load after install; it takes twenty minutes and it is the difference between good parts and a great ride. Kit ships as two factory boxes, one pair of cartridges and one pair of shocks.
